Waste Management
Waterman Boreham has successfully undertaken the design
and delivery of a number of waste management projects. These include the largest
PFI waste management scheme in the Country, for Greater Manchester, together with
the recently consented waste incinerator at Belvedere, Bexley on the River Thames.
We provide traffic and transportation advice for potential sites and cost benefit
analysis in relation to vehicle mileage. This ensures that the client has all the
necessary transport information to assist in the site selection process.
Following selection of the sites we undertake the full transport assessment necessary
to support a planning application and environment statement. As part of this we
negotiate with the local highway authority to ensure any potential issues are highlighted
for the client early on and mitigation identified. We provide route management and
signage strategies to mitigate the traffic impacts on surrounding sensitive areas,
together with considering junction improvements.
Key Services

Our Approach
We have formed strong relationships with environmental planners, technology providers
and waste management operators which allows us to provide an experienced team capable
of delivering major waste management schemes.
Our comprehensive experience of the PFI process for the acquisition of waste management
infrastructure ensures that we are in a position to understand all of the issues
involved and provide our clients with expert highways advice.
Throughout the process, we work closely with the relevant stakeholders in order
to identify potential issues and resolve them prior to the submission of a planning
