Travel Plans
Waterman Boreham has extensive experience providing
technical advice to clients and preparing the necessary travel plans for submission
as part of an application or in order to discharge a condition. This has included
monitoring of travel plans for a number of developments.
The advantage to clients is our full understanding of the complete travel planning
process from conception to implementation, and the way we use this knowledge to
assist occupiers in the implementation of their travel plans following the imposition
of a condition as part of the planning consent.
We are familiar with the range of travel plans and the importance of tailoring each
travel plan to the intended end user. As such both hard and soft measures are taken
into consideration, and plans are prepared for a wide range of uses and users, including
employment, residential, leisure and retail.
This expertise includes educational land uses gained from working with a variety
of educational institutions including Nursery Schools, Primary Schools, Secondary
Schools, Colleges and Universities, including the ‘spoke and hub’ learning format.
Boreham has also created travel plans for the health sector and other less traditional
developments like car showrooms, banqueting facilities, fire stations and hotels.
Numerous residential developments have also benefited from our travel plans where
we understand the specific requirements for the inclusion of travel packs as part
of the pre-occupation requirements for individual properties.
All Boreham’s travel plans take into account budgetary restrictions and we pride
ourselves in keeping costs realistic for the scale of development and type of land
use proposed.
Background
Travel Plans have been an essential part of the transport planning process for a
number of years, initially aimed at large employment uses, such as business parks.
More recently these have developed to include residential travel plans and school
travel plans.
