Established in 1984, Boreham has achieved an enviable reputation as one of the
UK’s leading specialists in transport planning, traffic engineering and infrastructure
design. It provides consultancy services for both the private and public sectors
throughout the UK and Ireland.
Boreham works with private sector organisations on major commercial, leisure, retail
and residential development schemes and provides consultancy services to the public
sector on strategic planning, traffic and transportation matters, as well as infrastructure
design. The company has worked with many high-profile clients for several years
- a testament to the quality and professionalism of Boreham’s work. The company
is dedicated to providing clients with cost-effective solutions that meet their
project aspirations.
Customer satisfaction is a key objective, in accordance with the company's accreditation
to BS EN ISO 9001:2008,
Quality Management Systems for the planning, design and management of projects.
Since the company was founded in 1984, it has achieved considerable growth. Boreham
now has more than 100 staff based across offices in the UK and Ireland, generating
an annual turnover of more than £10.5million.
Boreham recognises the importance of maintaining staff skills and motivations, demonstrated
by its Investor in People
status and backed by a comprehensive training and development programme. Its graduate
training scheme is registered with the
Institution of Civil Engineers.
Boreham is a member of Constructionline,
an independent organisation that offers a single national pre-qualification scheme,
acting to improve efficiency and streamlining procedures for all.
Notable dates
1984
Alan Boreham Associates founded by Alan Boreham.
1989
The company becomes a Private Limited Company and moves to Basildon from Brentwood
to accommodate expansion.
1997
The company returns to larger premises in Brentwood to facilitate further business
growth and expansion.
1999
The first regional office opens in Dublin.
2000
A second regional office opens in Glasgow to support the company’s rapid business
growth.
2001
Boreham Consulting Engineers Limited formed. The company undergoes a major ownership
restructure to include senior managers, associates and professionals led by Chief
Executive, Gerald Frost.
Alan Boreham retains a major shareholding in the company and remains on the Board
of Directors in a non-executive capacity.
2001 - 2004
As a result of continued success Boreham expands its reach throughout the UK, opening
offices in Bristol and Manchester
2005
Boreham opens new offices in Belfast and Edinburgh to support improved client servicing
and meet the company's future growth plans.
2007
Waterman Group acquires Boreham Consulting Engineers, to form a new operational
discipline - Waterman Boreham.
2007
Waterman Boreham expands its Northern presence, opening an office in Leeds, to service
clients
2008
Waterman Boreham supports its growth plans by opening new office in Nottingham.
2008
Waterman Boreham opens a new office in Cardiff to support client project commitments
and its organic growth plans.
