Hyndburn Wind Farm obtains planning permission
Energiekontor, one of Europe's leading wind energy developers has achieved planning permission for its 30MW wind farm in Oswaldtwistle Moor in Lancashire.
The 12 turbine wind farm will generate enough energy to power 17,000 homes, equivalent to over half of all the houses in the Hyndburn area. The scheme is set to meet part of the Government’s targets for on-shore wind farms under the Regional Spacial Strategy for the North West of England. The indicative Sub-Regional Targets for Lancashire are 157.5MW in 2010 and 195MW in 2015.
Waterman Boreham was responsible for providing transport planning advice from the scheme’s initial conception through to planning submission. Input to the scheme included; transport assessment was produced, as well as input to the environmental impact assessment produced by E4 Environment and the development of an access strategy and routing strategy from the Humberside ports for the transportation of abnormally long and heavy loads.
