Transport papers presented at Washington DC conference

A poster presentation put together by Dr. Séona Farrell, a Principal Transport Planner for Waterman Boreham, was presented at the 89th Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board (TRB), held in Washington DC from 10-14 January 2010.

The poster, entitled “Estimating the potential success of sustainable transport measures for a small town”, was written together with David McNamara and Dr. Brian Caulfield from the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering at Trinity College in Dublin. The piece examines the benefits of promoting and encouraging the use of ‘soft modes of transport’ in a small town in Ireland.

Another paper entitled “Identifying demand and optimal location for taxi ranks in a liberalised market”, which was also written by Séona, was presented at the conference. This paper was written in collaboration with Dr. James Cooper and Paul Simpson of the Transport Research Institute at Edinburgh Napier University.
